As my 30th birthday in 2013 is my…

As my 30th birthday in 2013 is my “champagne birthday”, I thought it would be a good deadline to set for some things I would like to do in my lifetime. I began writing a “30 by 30″ list but despite having worked on it for a few weeks, I still have spaces open. It’s a work in progress. The first three are the “biggies”, the rest are really about developing my interests and hobbies.

I thought it would be fun to blog about too, so keep your eyes peeled for posts announcing any accomplishments.

My list so far:
1. Obtain a full-time teaching contract.
2. Finish paying off my undergrad student loans.
3. Complete my Post Degree Certificate in Education: Special Education.

4. Fully research the requirements to be an Educational Psychologist.
5. Develop better study habits.
6. Learn more about financial matters.
7. Educate myself on politics so I can make more informed decisions when voting.
8. Get in good physical shape.
9. Practice yoga.
10. Take a creative writing class.
11. Write regularly, whether it be short stories, poetry, or a novel.
12. Read all works by Carol Shields.
13. Read more regularly on a wider variety of topics.
14. Start, or join, a book club.
15. Have my grandmother teach me how to embroider.
16. Learn how to knit.
17. Make a patchwork quilt.
18. Paint. Even if it is just one picture.
19. Invest in a bicycle I love.
20. Cycle more often.
21. Learn to play an instrument.
22. Create a podcast and/or video blog on some of my favourite artists/songs.
23. Start filling my family recipe book- and perhaps try making each recipe?
24. Bake/cook more often.
25. Organize a “Come Dine With Me” friendly competition with close friends/family members.
26. Send out Christmas cards to loved ones.
27. Organize my life (photos, paperwork, etc.)
28. Spend less time on the Internet.
29. Talk less, listen more.
30. Have an amazing 30th birthday party!

Awesome idea! I may need to come up with my own list too!

I wish I could come up with some ideas for you but the ones I would come up with are already there. Good luck!
