Life in London.
I don’t even know where to begin! I’ve only been here two days, but am already head over heels in love with this city. This post unfortunately will not be accompanied with pictures, as I’m currently at an internet café. My hostel doesn’t have high speed, so my laptop is pretty much useless right now.
Here are a few highlights of my first two days in London, England:
- Coffee on the steps of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square
- Seeing Big Ben up close and personal
- Asparagus, artichoke, pepper, and olive pizza at PizzaExpress
- Going to Les Misérables at Queen’s Theatre (I cried.)
- Discovering cheap fashion at Primark
- Cheap beer!
- The tube being super easy to figure out (even though I’ve gotten lost, I eventually found my way!)
Granted, there are a couple things I’m not a huge fan of…
- The toilets. Either I’m flushing wrong, or the toilets are relics of the 18th century and just can’t handle being flushed anymore. Seriously.
- Living out of a suitcase. I can’t wait until we find a place to live! My hostel is okay, I just want to be a bit more settled.
- The 7 hour time difference between here and home. Mornings are the only time of day that I’m not busy doing other things, but unfortunately it’s 3 AM at home right now and I really don’t think anyone would appreciate me calling them in the middle of the night.
That’s all I have time for today. I guess I can sum it up just by saying that I’m very happy I decided to come here. Life is going along wonderfully!

Big Ben, eh… I’m jealous
It’s great to hear from you and I’m glad everything is going well. Be good to yourself.
Sounds wonderful!
